What Is Wrong With Indian News Media?

India’s main opposition party’s spokesperson Rajiv Tyagi died of heart attack minutes after a heated TV debate.

On 12 August 2020 at around 6 PM, Rajiv Tyagi, one of the leading spokespersons from the main opposition party Indian National Congress, died having a heart attack. The tragic incident happened shortly after he participated in a TV debate.

The heated debate had the ruling party’s (BJP)Sambit Patra accusing Congress (read here as INC) for instigating riots in Bengaluru that happened on the night of 11th. Sambit was seen accusing Rajiv personally of not being a true Hindu, and having a tilak doesn't even make him a Hindu.

Blaming BJP’s Sambit Patra for this unfortunate incident can not be justified, even if he is known for vile and derogatory attacks on the opposition. The problem lies within the conduct of Indian news debates.

This brings back to the question in the title. What is wrong with Indian News media? The short answer is everything. Indian news media…
